Capture One adds support for Canon EOS R5 and Sony A7S III

Capture One has added RAW file support for the following new cameras:
  • Canon EOS R5
  • Canon EOS R6
  • Sony A7S III (tethered support is not currently available)
  • Sigma FP

In addition to the RAW file support for the above cameras*, there’s lens profile support for the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24mm f/1.8G ED, and several new Fujifilm Film Simulations for the medium format cameras: ETERNA (Cinema) and CLASSIC NEGATIVE for the 50R and 50S, plus ETERNA BLEACH, CLASSIC NEGATIVE for the GFX100.

The new 13.1.2 update also supports macOS 10.15.6 and features several critical bug fixes.

The update is free if you’re a subscriber or you’ve purchased a current perpetual license.

You can download a free trial of Capture One Pro directly from their e-store.

The release notes from can be found here. Note their slight bias towards Sony by not putting the cameras in alphabetical order.

*All new camera RAW files can be supported in Capture One after converting RAWs to DNG, however, to benefit from dedicated colour profiling those files will have to be reprocessed in Capture One using the new profiles. Now that Adobe have also released support in Lightroom, lets see what that does to the tranche of camera reviews that were written based on the assessment of unprofiled DNGs or out-of-camera JPEGs (which is going to be pretty much all of them) 😉
