Canon has announced the RF mount Canon EOS C50 camera

Here are five key points you need to know about the Canon EOS C50 cinema camera:

  1. Compact and Lightweight Design: The EOS C50 is Canon’s smallest and lightest cinema camera, weighing approximately 680 g (1.5 lbs), making it ideal for handheld and verité shooting in various settings.
  2. Advanced Imaging Capabilities: It features a new 7K full-frame CMOS sensor, capable of 7K 60P internal RAW recording and 32-megapixel still photo capture, positioning it as a true hybrid camera suitable for both video and photography.
  3. Versatile Recording Options: The camera supports multiple recording formats, including 12-bit Cinema RAW Light and various XF-AVC codecs, along with simultaneous crop recording in 4K DCI or UHD, allowing for flexibility in aspect ratios.
  4. Enhanced Connectivity and Control: The EOS C50 supports XC protocol for remote control over IP via Wi-Fi and is compatible with the Multi Camera Control App, enabling seamless integration with cloud services like frame.io.
