The Digital Journal [of Photography] is edited by Kevin Thomas Carter, a photographer and photography journalist.  A former freelance magazine photographer and journalist, freelance photography magazine editor, technical writer and consultant, Kevin is an industry veteran with over 20 years’ experience in print and online media.

He is also a recovering camera and software reviewer, having contributed 1000s of articles and reviews to some of the most widely known and respected specialist photography and IT titles in the UK, Europe and the US, including CNET, British Journal of Photography, HotShoe International, Professional Photographer, Digital Photographer, MacUser and PCPro.

From 2012-14 he was Senior Editor at DxOMark (now DXOMARK) and responsible for all Camera (Sensor), Lens and Mobile reviews, and known in particular for leading the photo industry discussion on  the benefits of sensor dynamic range via the site’s Sensor Reviews. He is the longest serving writer there, having written in excess of 1500 reviews at the site.

He still contributes to that site as an editor and to several magazines and websites, including the Canon EMEA Pro, Pro AV and consumer sites, and is available for both writing and architecture, interior and garden photography commissions.

He is a Capture One Pro author and evangelist and offers retouching and industry consultancy services upon request.
