    Phase One has announced that it will be adding ‘Automated Frame Averaging’ to its newly introduced Full-Frame 645 MF (54 x 40mm) Phase One IQ4 series digital backs next week. Automated Frame Averaging was mentioned during the original announcement of the IQ4 series and is said to reduce shadow noise and protect highlights from clipping. The new feature leverages the electronic shutter in the new IQ4 DBs (as well as the increased RAM and upgraded processor) to capture multiple frames in rapid succession, often with no significant time between them which may otherwise lead to moving elements appearing as blurred artefacts. The series of frames are merged generating a single RAW…

    Phase One, the company behind Capture One and Capture One Pro RAW processing software has announced 12.1, the first feature release of version 12.0. New features include a Grid tool that groups the options together from what was previously found under the global Preferences into a separate tool brick. This important compositional aid features a dedicated short-cut and is now separate from the Guides feature. As standalone the Grid tool is both simpler and more logical in use.       Phase One, the company behind Capture One Pro RAW processing software has added support for the recently announced, 100MP cropped medium format Fujifilm GFX 100.     Phase One, the company behind Capture One Pro RAW conversion and processing software has made a service release available for version 12. The latest version 12.0.3 adds RAW file support for a number of recently released, high-profile cameras including the Olympus OMD E-M1X, Sony A6400 and the full-frame Panasonic Lumix DC-S1 and S1R. The addition of lens correction profiles continues unabated with the continuation of support for Fujinon XF and Leica SL lenses after several were added from both ranges in the last release.
