Novoflex announce the Qube: a modular geared head to rival the Arca Swiss Cube

Novoflex has announced the Qube, a geared head potentially aimed at Arca Swiss Cube users. With brass guides, the Qube looks to be robust, particularly as there are no geared teeth visible in the supplied photo. Cube users will know that the geared teeth are susceptible to wear and are easily damaged in the field. However, it’s not clear from the photographs or the text from Novoflex how the geared movement on the Qube is employed and what, if any, steps have been taken to ensure reliability during everyday use. Neither does the press release mention the most likely potential customers for the new head; namely architecture, landscape and studio photographers. While this seems odd I’m as excited by it as I was when I first saw the Arca Cube, some 15-20 years ago.

NOVOFLEX Qube – Setting the Standard in Precision Photography

Wolverhampton 25^th July 2024 – NOVOFLEX launch the new Goniometer Head, ‘QUBE’ – designed to enable precise alignment of SLR and mirrorless cameras, technical cameras, bellows devices, complex macro setups, binoculars, telescopes, and rangefinders.

This latest Goniometer Head also includes a swivelling function whilst still maintaining the precision movement of attached devices by 15° to the right and left is extremely effective for photographic applications such as close-up and macro range, or extreme telephoto scenarios where shallow depths of field and limited angles occur.

Where the modularity of the Goniometer Head really comes to the fore is through the ability to combine and stack two Goniometer Heads freely. Movements can then be performed either parallel to each other or offset by 90° to enable exceptional creativity.

The new Panorama Base PANORAMA=QC (comes as standard on the QUBE PRO and is an optional accessory for QUBE and QUBE DUO)  can extend the overall setup and add a third adjustment axis to achieve the maximum configuration. The Panorama Base also features an ARCA-compatible quick-release clamp on the top the square foot on the bottom as well as 1/4″-3/8″ threads, to provide all the accessories and flexibility for the discerning photographer.
