Images leak of the Canon EOS R3 showing fold out screen

    May 27, 2021 /

Images have leaked of the Canon EOS R3 showing the front and, more importantly, the rear of the camera. If these images are genuine, the EOS R3 has a fully-articulated screen, and possibly a touch-sensitive AF-On button that can be used for focus point selection, like the EOS-1DX Mark III. Although I can’t be sure from this, it also looks as if the memory card door isn’t lockable, like the EOS-1D series. Built-in LAN looks like a possibility and a voice memo feature also seems to be part of the feature set. One further feature that’s apparent, besides the sharing of the EOS-1 battery, is the enormous viewfinder. Let’s hope…

Sony to introduce new ultra-wide FE 12-24mm F2.8 GM zoom?

    July 4, 2020 /

Sony seems set to bolster the range with a new high-performance G Master FE 12-24mm F2.8 GM lens for their full-frame and APS-C mirrorless models. If the image is genuine and the maximum aperture is a constant F2.8, then it looks as if Sony will have the world’s fastest ultra-wide 12-24mm zoom; all previous models have been F4 or smaller. Although it looks relatively compact, no further details are available but expect it to be announced sometime next week.

Leica M10-R to be announced soon

    June 26, 2020 /

The existence of the Leica M10-R with a high resolution CMOS sensor has been known for sometime and was allegedly postponed due to the pandemic. But, according to well-known source Nokishita Camera, the eagerly awaited camera should be announced over the next few days. There’s no word yet on price or availability, or even the actual sensor resolution. Although expected to use a similar 47MP sensor to that found in the Leica SL2, the same was said of the M10 Monochrom, which in the end shipped with a 40MP sensor.

    Fujifilm to announce GF30mm F3.5 R WR

    June 24, 2020 /

Fujifilm are allegedly preparing to announce the GF30mm F3.5 R WR to add to their GFX range of medium format cameras (GFX100, GFX 50S, GFX 50R), according to a reliable and well-known source. From the specs below it looks to a highly compact design and would fit in between the current GF23mm F4 R LM WR and GF45mm F2.8 R WR. Based on the GFX sensor size of 44 x 33mm, the new GF30mm F3.5 R WR would be the equivalent to a 24mm on full frame 35mm. Key specs: 13 elements in 10 groups (2 aspherical, 2 ED lenses) 0.32m minimum focus distance (0.15x magnification) 58mm filter diameter 84 x…

Rumor sites leak Nikon mirrorless Z6, Z7 and lenses

    August 22, 2018 /

Nikon’s intention to enter the full-frame mirrorless segment hasn’t exactly been kept secret, we’ve seen mention of it in the mainstream press (admittedly where the publisher has a camera title in its portfolio). However, on the eve of the official announcement, several of the Japan-based rumor sites have published images of the 24-MP Z6 and identical-looking 45-MP Z7 cameras. All will be revealed tomorrow but here are few musings based on what little we know so far. Firstly, the camera looks very similar to the Sony…
