Videos surface of the new Leica M11
Two new videos have surfaced showing some of the design elements on the forthcoming Leica M11. The rear screen is not flush, as I had hoped for but on the plus side the new battery looks large, which bodes well for capacity. Also shown is the rumoured new Visoflex. It is rather boxy looking but it is hinged for overhead viewing and it has built-in dioptric control. Thoughts on the upcoming Leica M11 – Updated
Update, January 7th: two new videos feature the new Leica M11 have leaked, see here for more details. Nokishita Camera, the principal source of most camera leaks on the net today, published the first picture of the Leica M11 (shown above) last week, allegedly ’taken’ from Leica’s Japan-based site. As it has shown up there it’s genuine, and coming soon. Although the press get advanced warning of cameras I’ve not heard anything officially (or unofficially, either), so this is just what I would like to see featured. It’s been long rumoured that the M11 will differ greatly from the M10, however as the leaked photo reveals there are only some slight differences…

Update 07 Nov, 2021: Although I wasn’t told initially when this ends a Capture One spokesperson informed me that the offer ends Tuesday 09 November (presumably at midnight Central European time.) B&H Photo special on Capture One Pro downloads
US retailer B&H Photo has currently a special price on my favourite RAW converter, Capture One Pro. It’s selling a single user license* (with download emailed over 3-7 days) for $179, instead of the regular price of $299. The retailer is also offering (presumably through the same license) to upgrade to version 22 for free, when it’s launched later in the year (scheduled for December). Capture One announces significant update to Capture One 21
Capture One A/S announced the latest update to Capture One 21 this week. This is a major update and likely the last before version 22 is released, which is expected in December. The full list of improvements can be seen in the release notes below. Besides bringing back the Exporter tools in the main window, performance improvements and a new Easy Magic Brush tool, the new update (14.4) adds RAW support for the recently introduced Fujifilm GFX 50S II and Nikon Z fc. Capture One starts pre-sale of version 22
Capture One has started their pre-sale campaign of perpetual licensing for version 22 (the current version is 21). I will say I’m usually opposed to pre-sales, as you’re enticed to buy only to find later that you could have waited for a discount. But on this occasion if you’re looking to buy version 21 for the first time, then it’s a pretty decent deal – you’ll get to use the same license for version 21 as for 22 and benefit from the new features (some of which have been announced already such as HDR merging and Panorama Stitching). Canon EOS R3 to be launched soon
The Canon EOS R3 will be with us shortly and it marks a significant change in Canon’s line up – serial leaker Nokishita has stated that the resolution is 24MP. Given Nokishita Camera is likely a retailer in Japan, and/or has access (perhaps as a reseller) to one of the big online stores, the native resolution can no longer be contested. Evidently, Canon is feeling the pressure from Sony as this is destined to give the Sony a9 and a9 II a run for the money (or perhaps not at $5,999, at least initially anyway).
