Fujifilm announces two Tilt / Shift lenses: Fujinon GF30mm F5.6 T/S and GF110mm F5.6 T/S Macro
This week, Fujifilm, became the latest manufacturer to add Tilt/Shift lenses to their medium format system. The introduction of the G30mm F5.6 T/S is good news for architectural photographers and landscape photographers in general. The GF110mm F5.6 T/S Macro is, of course, aimed at studio/tabletop photographers. As MF models, the new lenses will have to be bigger than those designed for 35mm (accounting for the larger image circle), so it will be interesting to see how these handle. Capture One Pro has one of the best (if not the best) B&W conversion options of any software application to date. Here we give you a mini-sampler of its capabilities. Black and white images are probably most authentic and compelling when the original image was conceived with the idea of it being in mono. Capture One Pro adds support for Fujifilm GFX 100
Phase One, the company behind Capture One Pro RAW processing software has added support for the recently announced, 100MP cropped medium format Fujifilm GFX 100. Although the camera is not officially available, it is expected later in the month. The new update 12.0.4 is free to both license holders and subscribers of Capture One Pro 12, and is available to download via the app’s preferences or from the Phase One site. Capture One Pro Fujifilm Available As Perpetual License
Phase One announced at Photokina this year that Capture One Pro 11.3 was available with extended RAW support for Fujifilm cameras, most notably that they supported the medium format GFX 50S (and new GFX 50R, unofficially). Phase One also introduced a less feature rich Express version Capture One Express Fujifilm specifically for Fujifilm users, which is offered as a similar arrangement to the Capture One Express Sony. Capture One Express lacks some of the features of the Pro version such as Sessions, Layers and tethered camera control, but RAW file support for the cameras and lens profiles doesn’t vary. Fujifilm GFX 100 medium format camera with IBIS announced
In addition to announcing the new rangefinder-style Fujifilm GFX 50R and three new lenses, see here for more details, Fuji took the opportunity to make a development announcement. The 102MP GFX 100 medium format camera is a more conventionally styled model than the current GFX 50S and will include on-sensor PDAF across the entire frame. Information is sparse but the 102 megapixel sensor in the GFX 100 is expected to be 43.8 x 32.2mm sensor, like that found in the 50S and 50R models. Fujifilm announces rangefinder-esque GFX 50R and three lenses
Fujifilm has announced the GFX 50R, a rangefinder-styled medium format model based on the earlier GFX 50S. It adopts the same 51.4-MP cropped medium format sensor (43.8 x 32.2mm) as its sibling and much of the rest of the internals, albeit in a smaller, more compact body and with a significantly lower ticket. The GFX 50R adds Bluetooth connectivity with a smartphone and offers a similar build and weatherproofing as the 50S.
